Call for Abstracts

The Virginia Dermatology Society (VDS) invites medical students, residents and fellows to submit abstracts for review and selection for Oral and Poster Presentations at the 7th Annual Meeting, scheduled for October 17-19, 2025 at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA. Abstracts are due for submission on Monday, July 28th at 5pm. The five highest-quality abstracts, as voted on by the VDS Scientific Committee, will be selected for 5-minute oral presentations. Other high-quality abstracts will be selected for poster presentation.

Abstract Submission guidelines

Abstracts should be submitted using the link below. They should be no longer than 250 words in length (excluding author information and references). Submission of clinical images is strongly encouraged; appropriate consents should be obtained for any identifiable images. Correspondence will be directed to the first/primary author listed on the submission who will also serve as the speaker if selected for oral presentation. If the primary author is unavailable, a co-author can present.

Submission eligibility/exclusion

Medical students, residents and fellows are encouraged to submit abstracts to the VDS, in conjunction with dermatology attending physicians. Submissions accepted for publication or presentation elsewhere including journals or conferences should not be submitted. Presentation at your local institution does not preclude submission to the VDS. Up to two submissions per first author are permitted.

Oral Presentations

The first authors of the five highest quality abstracts will be invited to give a 5-minute, in-person oral presentation at the meeting.

Poster Session

Other high-quality abstracts will be selected for poster presentation at the annual meeting. Meeting attendees will be able to access all poster PDF files via the meeting website as well.

Further detailed instructions will be emailed to everyone selected for participation in the Poster Session.
